How to claim your business on Bing Places and Apple Business

Who is this guide for?

Owners and managers who have a verified Google Business Profile and want the same business facts to be right on Bing and in Apple Maps. By the end, you will have claimed or created a Bing Places listing and an Apple Business location, you will know how long publishing takes, and you will know where to change holiday hours on Apple.

How do you sign in to Bing Places for Business?

  1. Sign in to Bing Places for Business. Your account is created simply by signing in, and you can use an account from Facebook, Google, a Microsoft account or a work account. Bing says any listings you claim or create are associated with the email credentials you use to sign in. Source: Get started, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.

How do you find, claim or create your Bing listing?

  1. Search on Bing to check whether a listing for your business already exists. Select the correct country, enter your business name and location, and click Search. If several results appear, choose the listing that matches your business address. Source: Create your listing, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.
  2. If the listing exists and is not claimed, claim it to begin verification. Updates only go live after the listing has been successfully verified. If no listing is found, select Create a new business and enter your business details. Source: Create your listing, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.
  3. If the listing is already claimed by someone else, Bing's create page says to refer to its Request Access section. That section did not load in Bing's page when we checked on October 24, 2026, at 12:10 AM CT, so this guide gives no Request Access steps. Follow Bing's on-screen prompts. For a listing marked Duplicate, Bing's FAQ says to claim the published listing instead and, if it is already claimed, to request access from the account owner so they can grant you permission to manage it. 4. If your business moved, create a new listing with the new address instead of claiming the old one, and mark the old listing as closed. Bing does not recommend updating an older listing with a new name or address, because it can cause data conflicts. Source: Create your listing, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.

How do you verify your Bing listing?

  1. Verify the listing. Bing sends a PIN by phone, mail, email or text, and some options are not available to everyone. Phone verification is only offered if the existing listing already contains the business phone number and that number has not been edited. For email, make sure you can access the email on your account. If the PIN does not work, use the same account that started verification and enter the six-digit PIN correctly, or have a new PIN sent. Source: Create your listing, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.
  2. If you ask for a PIN by postal mail, Bing says postcards typically take 5 to 6 business days to arrive within the United States, and may take up to 12 business days. It recommends waiting at least 12 days before contacting support. Bing also says you may have limited editing capability until the listing is verified. How long does Bing take to publish a listing?

  1. Know the timeline. Once verified, the listing is published. Bing says typical Publish Cycles are 7 to 12 days for North America, and you can see the publishing ETA next to your Verified status. Allow additional time for all details to appear in search results. Updates to details, photos or hours may also take 7 to 12 days to process, plus additional time to appear on Bing. Source: Create your listing, Bing Places for Business Help; Source: Frequently asked questions, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.
  2. Do not keep editing while it processes. Bing says making frequent changes while your listing is processing may cause delays, and editing a listing changes its publish date. Wait for the publishing cycle to finish before making more updates. Source: Create your listing, Bing Places for Business Help; Source: Frequently asked questions, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.

How do you complete your Bing listing?

  1. Complete the listing. Include your business name, address, phone and category, links to your website and social media pages, your business hours, and photos (Bing allows up to 100). Check anything that was pre-filled when you claimed. Source: Create your listing, Bing Places for Business Help; Source: Edit your listing, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.

Can you import your Google Business Profile into Bing?

  1. Option, if your Google profile is verified: import it. In your Bing Places account select Import from your Google Business Profile. Choose whether to sync weekly, biweekly or monthly. Sign in to your Google Business Profile, then import the detected listings. If your business is already verified in Google Business Profile, Bing automatically verifies the imported listing, and it then goes through the usual 7 to 12 day publishing process. Source: Sync your Google Business Profile with Bing Places, Bing Places for Business Help. Checked October 24, 2026.
  2. Know the trade offs of syncing. Bing says you cannot choose which listings to import, syncing can create duplicate listings, and some fields such as categories may not sync exactly. For a listing linked to Google, direct editing is not available in the Bing dashboard: update the listing in Google, then sync it with Bing Places. Does Bing check your hours against other sources?

  1. Know that hours are checked against outside data. Bing says the basic details, which include Hours, "are controlled through automated validation," and that updates "are only applied if they align with trusted external data." If inconsistencies are detected, changes may not publish or may be overwritten. Bing's FAQ suggests keeping your business details current across the web, including review sites, other map platforms and social media. Do not select the agency checkbox unless you are a third-party partner who manages brands for other organizations (Apple says it is for third-party partners). Select Next. How do you set holiday hours on Apple?

Select Save when done. Source: Edit or remove a single location in Apple Business, Apple Support; Source: Configure location attributes in Apple Business, Apple Support. Checked October 24, 2026.
  2. Choose the right kind of special hours. Apple describes its temporary special hours option as hours valid for a single day or several days, for adjusted schedules or closures during holidays. For holiday open hours, Apple says these need to be different than your standard open hours. Source: Configure location attributes in Apple Business, Apple Support. Checked October 24, 2026.
